Students at Malmö University are invited to apply for the South Africa – Sweden University Forum (SASUF) Student Leadership Program (SLP) 2026 an opportunity to develop key skills in leadership, intercultural competence, communication, and project management while engaging in an international student network.
About the Program
The SASUF Student Leadership Program aims to support student representatives in building and maintaining a sustainable organisational culture within the SASUF Student Network. The program brings together students from Sweden and South Africa, offering a unique platform for collaboration and exchange. The SLP is not an academic course but is instead designed as a co-creative space and a platform where students can actively build an organisational culture. The main target group for the SLP is students currently involved in, or interested in becoming involved in, the SASUF Student Network.
Program Structure
The SLP is delivered in two parts:
- Part 1: 16–17 September 2026, either in person at Linköping University or online
- Part 2: 17 March 2027, online
For Part 1, selected students may participate either virtually or in person. In-person participants from Sweden will be hosted by Linköping University, while South African participants will be hosted by Tshwane University of Technology. The two groups will collaborate digitally throughout the program. Malmö University will cover travel and accommodation for students selected to participate in person in Linköping.
Content
Introduction to leadership and leadership styles; Intercultural competence and communication; Teamwork and conflict management, Community engagement and ethical leadership; Strategic thinking and succession management
Eligibility
The program is open to students at all levels, including PhD students, from SASUF partner institutions such as Malmö University, that are interested in engaging in the SASUF Student Network . Applicants must be registered students at Malmö University throughout the academic year 26/27.
Certification
Students who complete the programme requirements will receive a Certificate of Completion.
How to Apply
Malmö University is offering 3 spots to participate in person in Linköping and 3 spots to participate online.
Send in your motivation letter in less than 300 words, indicating your name, program, planned graduation date, and why you are a good fit for the program. Indicate in your letter if you want to attend the first part in person in Linköping or online. Send to vice.ordforande@malmostudenter.se no later than 30 April 2026.
