Then it’s time to take the step and apply for the Student Union Malmö’s Council (FUM) seven seats and Board three seats (full-time student ombud and vice-president). As an important part of student life, you now have the chance to get engaged and influence directly.

It is an opportunity for you to become a voice for your fellow students and drive changes that matter to all of you. By applying for the Council and Board, you will be part of a dynamic group working to improve student life.

The by-election means that we need to fill seven vacant seats in the Student Union Council and three vacant board positions. To become a student ombud or vice-president, you must first be or be elected in FUM and then be elected as a student ombud or vice-president.

How to apply

Union’s Council:

To apply for the Council, you need to answer the following three questions:

  1. Why are you running for the Council?
  2. What do you want to achieve by being on the Council?
  3. If you could choose one thing to change at Malmö University, what would it be?

Student ombud or vice-president:

To apply to the Union’s board as a student ombud or vice-president, motivate why you are suitable for this in a maximum of half an A4 (250 words). This applies to ordinary members and for those who apply to the Union’s Council in the By-election.

The application period is open from December 14 2023 to January 14 2024 and you can send your application to valberedningen@malmostudenter.se. The application is handled by the Election Committee.
