It’s official! Next year, the Student Union Malmö will move into new offices at Beijerskajen near Klaffbron. 

An agreement has been signed with the City of Malmö for the Sjöormen property, which means that the Student Union Malmö will have access to approximately 1,000 square meters in a single building during the period 2027–2032.

The new premises will make it possible to bring all of the Student Union’s operations under one roof. There will be space here for the administration office, FUM members, student associations, and social activities such as soup lunches and student breakfasts—two popular events that are making a comeback! The plans also include a student pub and a café that will welcome both students and the general public. The goal is to create a meeting place where students can gather, get involved, and participate in both student life and student governance.

But first, the property must undergo extensive renovation before the Student Union can move in. The move-in date has not yet been set, but is planned for the fall semester of 2027. Until then, the Student Union Malmö will continue its operations in the temporary facilities at Nordenskiöldsgatan 4 and Neptunigatan 20.

The new student union building on Beijerskajen is an important step in our efforts to create a long-term and vibrant gathering place for Malmö’s students.
